Dennis Miller once said that he had ADD/OCD, which he explained means, “I frequently change what I obsess about.” I can easily identify with that statement. There is so much in the world to see and do that I frequently feel like a little boy in a candy store with a fist full of money.
I am also greatly drawn to paintings. There is so much depth and breadth to be held there. There is so much beauty in the world to capture. There have been times, when I have just a small glimpse of something indescribable, something wonderful that it moves me to tears. I wish I could capture these moments.
I have worked mostly in a representational style using acrylics, pastels, pen and ink and pencil. I still do Still Life, Urban Sketching and Life Drawing. Over the past few years, I’ve been drawn more to Expressionism and Abstracts, which has provided new opportunities for exploration.
As I’ve gotten older, I realized that the world is messy. It’s not always clear and sometimes we need to work to figure things out. My more recent work reflects that world.
